Surfin Dave: In Search of a Decent Haircut

previous | next

Wow, my first foray into having something actually released with my name on it and everything. It was also my first taste of regular gigging and touring in Europe. It's a fun, quirky little record, long out of print. Kind of Jonathan Richman-meets-the-Replacements. Somehow it ended up on Crammed Discs which is a great label out of Brussels but back then specialized more in avant-Euro music. Not the best situation for either us or them but we had fun.The drummer, Mick Green, got enlisted onto the first Rollins/Haskett collaboration "Hot Animal Machine". It's got some instrumentals I really like which tie to an instrumental project I was working on at the time called "Invisible Ray" I've put up some MP3s you can check out.
